Remember this adorable teen from last week? Well, here is the rest of her sneak peek!
We had so much fun together on this shoot ... I LOVE teen sessions and my camera LOVED Katrina! While we shot, we laughed, chatted about her goals, drank slurpies, and ran from a snake. Um, YES I just said snake! And I'm not embarrassed to say that I screamed and ran the other way when I heard that creepy rattle sound! But, we recovered and got some really great shots that day!

Hey there guys!
I can't believe it's been two weeks since my last post! I guess I needed a longer break than I realized! Blogging everyday for a month was SO fun .... but not totally do-able in my "real" life. You know, the life that includes mothering three busy boys, hiking the Grand Canyon, being wife to an awesome guy, learning how to be a Bear den leader, recovering from a killer sinus infection, shooting and editing sessions, and washing a ga-zillion dirty dishes everyday. (Does anyone else HATE that chore as much as me?)
Anyway, I'm looking forward to a more realistic schedule of posting twice a week. I have to say that I definitely learned a lot about what I wanted my blog to be like last month. I realized I wanted it to be so much more than just my work ... but my life too! So, future posts will include more ramblings about motherhood, my love of fashion and decorating, more photog lessons, adventures for families, my latest sessions, monthly giveaways, and well, anything else that inspires me! So, I hope you'll stay tuned ... share me with a friend .... add me to your google reader and Like my FB page!
Before I sign off, here's one of my fav images from a Senior session I shot this weekend. Katrina took advantage of my $99.00 Senior Model-call Special ... and we had a blast playing around in the setting sun at the end of her session! Isn't she a beauty? We also had an interesting experience together that left us both a little "rattled" ... but more on that later. The rest of the sneak peek coming soon!

Tonight I'm celebrating embracing our passions and being yourself.
Meet Ruth-Ann. She is unique. She is artistic and creative. She is fun. And she seriously rocks her pink hair (which I've kinda always secretly wanted!) We had a blast together. And, even though I just met her yesterday, I felt like I totally "got" her. We talked about her goals for art school after graduation and I'll never forget the thought that came to me as we chatted.
That, no matter what, we always have to find a way to include our passions in our lives. That if we don't that fire slowly fades. And, it's that fire (whatever it may be) that makes us unique and in many ways, makes us who we are.
Thanks for the reminder Ruth-Ann. You're gonna do amazing things!

I'm looking for two Seniors to photograph in an urban environment for some exciting changes I have planned for this year! Spots will be filled on a first come first serve basis and each model will receive a full session and 20 digital images for only $99.00. Sessions can include up to 3 outfit changes and will be shot at 2-3 locations. We'll have a blast and you'll love what we come up with!

Hey Guys!!
I'm super excited about my post tonight! I spent 3 hours today with a couple of amazingly cool teens and we had such a blast exploring abandoned houses, jumping over pigeon poop, and just playing around! These two were not only SO fun but also totally got into with me! Looved it!
BTW, did I mention I absolutely love photographing seniors?! It always gives me a chance to do something a little more edgy, a little more artistic, and super urban. AND, I get to tap into my love for fashion photography. Aawwe- some!!
But, enough of me ... here's my first senior of 2011, Jake. He's handsome, talented, giving, and about to ship out to serve our country. I am truly so amazed at the depth of this young man. Thanks Jake. Tonight, I'm celebrating you!
PS. My other gorgeous Senior coming tomorrow! Stay tuned for all her awesome-ness and for a big captured{photography} announcement!! I can hardly wait!!
The first time I viewed the images from this session I was literally laughing out loud! And now, looking at it the pictures edited and almost finished, they make me want to go tickle my kids and hug my hubby. And, that's how I know this was a totally awesome session!
I'm not sure I can really describe it, but lately I have been feeling an extra special connection with the families I've been photographing. I'm loving listening to Mom encourage the kids, hearing Dad laugh at something funny the kids say, and I'm loving watching the kids be ... well, themselves!
Families are special. They are unique little groups in which we get to learn how to love, how to live, and how to be ourselves. Remembering this makes me want to be a better photographer. It makes me want to do my very best each time I get to capture the precious moments we get spend with one another.
This amazing family was long overdue for pics and I'm so glad they called me! They are an incredibly talented family and Mom and Dad are just awesome enough to go with all my crazy ideas ... I had them jumping in the air, laying on the ground AND {insert Rocky theme music here} shopping cart races! Oh my gosh ... SO MUCH FUN!
Thanks so much Roderick family ... you are the best!

These two guys have grown up together, survived high school together, and traveled the world together. Of course they'd want their senior pics together! And, I'm so glad they did!
We had a total blast on this shoot and I won't even tell you how many clothing changes they brought along! Totally adorable ... I had to tease them just a bit ... "Wardrobe!"

Not to pat myself on the back, but isn't that a creative title considering the first image? "Crush on him" ... kind of a play on words ... get it? LOL!! Oh boy, maybe too much allergy medicine today!
ANYWAY! This is "D" ... short for Dillon and what a fun teen he is! I've known this handsome guy since he was a baby and have loved watching him grow up. Even with a number of challenges along the way, he has managed to stay true to his standards, excel in school, and make us all laugh with his ever present positive attitude. And, boy does he look like his Dad!
We had a blast at his session and I loved that he showed up all decked out in his purple shirt, purple Vans and a purple Crush to finish his look. It was hilariously adorable! Enjoy your sneak peek D ... the future is as bright as your smile!

I had quite the entourage for this session. In an effort to save on babysitting costs, I brought my boys along and told them they could have a movie marathon in the truck while I worked. Crazy idea, I know ... but I'm just crazy enough to try to pull it off!
Well instead of the movie marathon, they spent the session running around giggling and laughing while blasting the Toy Story soundtrack in the background (a re-discovered fav). Now don't worry ... I would never try that with a paying client ... but these gorgeous models are my fam, so they were totally cool with it. I thought it added to the fun of the session and I LOVED it! (I don't know if my sis-in-law, Catherine, loved it as much as me ... but, thanks for the crowd control Cath!!!)
Anyway, if you follow my blog, you've for sure seen two of these faces before. I was inspired by a couple new locations I found recently ... so of course I called my nieces to come try them out with me. They brought along their little sis and best friend and before I knew it, I was shooting four sessions in one! Way fun!

Taking pictures of boys is so different from girls ... let's just say it's not usually their favorite thing to do. They would much rather be throwing a ball around, playing on the computer, or getting into some kind of mischief. Well, they'd really rather be doing anything else than playing dress up for mom and smiling for a camera. So, Mom and I decided to just go with it and not ask them smile. Sometimes it just makes for an awesome image! So, here is the "serious series" of these adorable boys! Thanks for hanging in there guys - hopefully it wasn't too painful!
